This is a hands-on position for an experienced immigration attorney who enjoys handling complex matters, contributing strategic insight, and serving as a resource to colleagues, while maintaining an active caseload.

This role is ideal for an attorney who brings depth of experience, sound judgment, and a steady presence to a busy immigration practice, experienced in habeas corpus petitions, mandamus actions, and federal immigration litigation without requiring formal supervisory management as a primary focus.

What You’ll Do

  • Federal Court litigation experience using mandamus and Administrative Procedures Act
  • Federal Court Habeas Corpus litigation
  • Draft and argue motions for injunctions and stays of removal
  • Develop litigation strategy for complex immigration cases
  • Review and refine filings, petitions, motions, and correspondence to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to support efficient case flow and deadline management
  • Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior attorneys and staff as needed
  • Assist with calendar oversight to ensure hearings, filings, and deadlines remain on track
  • Step in on sensitive or escalated client matters when appropriate
  • Contribute to improving case management systems, workflows, and best practices
  • Participate in internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives

What You Bring

  • Active Florida Bar license (required)
  • J.D. and active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar
  • Admission to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals with knowledge and experience in filing petitions for review with the Court on immigration related matters
  • Minimum of 5 years of immigration law experience in a multi-attorney or high-volume practice
  • Strong command of family-based, asylum, removal defense, and waiver matters
  • Admission to at least one Florida U.S. District Court (required)
  • Federal litigation experience (3 years preferred)
  • Federal Habeas Corpus litigation experience 3 years (required)
  • Strong legal writing and courtroom advocacy skills
  • Experience with detained cases and removal defense strongly preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Clear, confident communication skills with clients and colleagues
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage complex matters independently
  • A calm, solutions-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced attorneys
  • Proficiency with cloud-based immigration case management systems
  • Interest in contributing to firm growth, systems improvement, and team development
  • Experience challenging prolonged detention or agency delay

Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Performance bonuses tied to firm and individual performance metrics
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and firm holidays
  • CLE and professional development support
  • Collaborative team-oriented environment with long-term growth opportunities
