Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to manage the financial operations at our Alaska location for both our Arizona and Alaska location. This is an onsite position requiring a strong background in QuickBooks and experience in financial reporting, payroll, and data reconciliation. The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our mission of providing exceptional flight training.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial Management:
- Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes, including tracking and processing payments and invoices.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, including handling withholdings and deductions.
- Handle deposits and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Perform regular data entry to ensure financial records are current and accurate.
- Reconcile all financial accounts (bank accounts, credit cards, and other ledgers) in QuickBooks to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Prepare and issue W-2s and 1099s at year-end through QuickBooks.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate financial reports in QuickBooks and Flight Schedule Pro (FSP) as needed for internal review and reporting to leadership.
- Monitor financial performance and flag discrepancies or issues for resolution.
Student Financial Support:
- Complete necessary paperwork and follow up with outside entities providing funds to students through grants, scholarships, and loans.
- Ensure timely processing and tracking of all student funding transactions.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records for audits and regulatory reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of bookkeeping experience; experience in aviation or education-related businesses is a plus.
- Experience in Quickbooks Online is required.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB), QuickBooks Certified User (QBCU), or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with payroll processing and handling employee tax documentation (payroll certification preferred).
- Ability to manage high volumes of data entry with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to generate and interpret financial reports.
- Professional communication skills and ability to interact with staff, students, and external entities.
- Must be able to work onsite at the Alaska location.

Compensation:
- $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience.
