Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager to lead our organization's information technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise across a broad range of IT systems, and the ability to align technology strategies with business objectives. The IT Manager will supervise IT staff, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, databases, and cloud services such as AWS and Azure.
- Oversee network engineering tasks involving LAN, WAN, Cisco routers, firewalls, network security, and remote access software.
- Manage virtualization environments utilizing VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Ensure system security through active management of Active Directory, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux systems, and information security protocols.
- Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity planning strategies.
- Administer databases including Microsoft SQL Server and other data management systems; oversee backup and recovery processes.
- Support IT service management frameworks such as ITIL; utilize tools like ServiceNow, Jira, SolarWinds for monitoring and incident management.
- Supervise technical support operations including desktop support and server management to ensure high levels of user satisfaction.
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware/software procurement; oversee project management activities related to IT infrastructure upgrades or new implementations.
- Develop policies for network infrastructure security including DHCP, DNS, network support services, and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead IT governance initiatives ensuring adherence to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency using software development practices where applicable.
- Provide leadership in managing IT teams through supervision, training, performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing complex IT environments with strong knowledge of systems engineering, network engineering, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Azure cloud platform, VMware vSphere, Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server environments (including IIS), Linux systems, Cisco networking equipment, firewalls, DHCP/DNS configurations.
- Familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL; experience using ServiceNow or Jira for project tracking; SolarWinds or similar tools for network monitoring.
- Strong understanding of information security principles including network security measures and disaster recovery planning.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervisory experience managing diverse technical teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Organizational skills capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Cisco CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate are preferred.
