Material Handler

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Material Handler to join our dynamic team on first shift. In this vital role, you will be responsible for the accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials throughout the manufacturing facility. This role supports production by ensuring materials are available when needed, inventory transactions are completed accurately in the ERP system, and production reporting is entered in a timely manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable using handheld scanning devices and computer systems. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate inventory, efficient material flow, and uninterrupted production by maintaining accurate inventory transactions and timely production reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Retrieve raw materials, components, and finished goods to support production schedules.
• Put away materials and finished products into designated warehouse or production locations.
• Use handheld barcode scanners to complete inventory transactions within the ERP system.
• Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning all material movements and ensuring system transactions are completed correctly.
• Enter production reporting data into the ERP system, including completed quantities, material usage, and production transactions.
• Verify part numbers, quantities, and locations to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Stage materials for production and replenish production areas as needed.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory activities.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or process issues.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) practices and established inventory control procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, as required and authorized.
• Follow all company safety policies and standard operating procedures.
• Work closely with Production, Inventory Control, Shipping, and other departments to ensure efficient material flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing, material handling, or warehouse environment (1 year min).
• Experience using an ERP system and handheld barcode scanners.
• Basic computer skills and ability to accurately enter production and inventory data.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and climb throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with varying temperature and noise levels.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience with inventory control processes.
• Understanding of manufacturing workflows and production reporting.
• Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
• Knowledge of inventory accuracy and warehouse best practices.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
• Dependability and commitment to attendance and punctuality.

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing and warehouse environment.
• Exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, and production equipment.
• Use of personal protective equipment as required (PPE).
• May require overtime, weekends, or shift work based on production demands.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
