Position Purpose:
The Director of Faculty ensures success of all academic programs of Charis Bible College. This role will serve as a relational bridge between our students, executive leadership, faculty, adjunct instructors, and guest speakers to ensure the heart, vision, and doctrine, including the Tenets of Faith and Doctrine, of Charis Bible College are carried out in all matters.
Essential Duties:
- Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with faculty at all levels, including executive leadership who serve as instructors, fostering open communication, collaboration, and mutual support.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and “go-to” resource for faculty, staff, and students regarding teaching, classroom culture, and student experience, ensuring that questions, concerns, and ideas are received, heard, and addressed in a timely and honoring manner.
- Proactively check in with faculty throughout the year, both formally and informally, to understand their needs, identify areas where additional support or resources are required, and remove obstacles that hinder their effectiveness in the classroom.
- Collaborate closely with Student Success, Student Services, and other ministry departments to discern and resolve disruptions to the spiritual learning environment, helping to preserve a culture that is Christ-centered, faith-filled, and aligned with Charis’ core values.
- Oversee and support all extracurricular academic programs to ensure they align with the academic vision, meet quality standards, and reinforce the overall spiritual and educational objectives of the school.
- Oversee all stage announcements to the student body, ensuring messages are accurate, timely, aligned with leadership priorities, and delivered in a way that avoids confusion and information overload.
- Ensure the effective planning, communication, and execution of Student Events in collaboration with relevant teams, with a focus on increasing student engagement, connection, and retention.
- Facilitate regular feedback loops between faculty and academic leadership on curriculum effectiveness, course load balance, instructional methods, and student outcomes, ensuring feedback is captured, synthesized, and translated into actionable recommendations.
- Monitor and track key indicators related to faculty experience and program health (e.g., recurring issues, training and development needs, morale trends, schedule pressure points), and present clear, data-informed insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Act as a liaison between faculty and executive leadership as needed, communicating leadership’s vision, expectations, and priorities to faculty with clarity and honor, while accurately representing faculty perspectives, concerns, and ideas back to leadership in the same spirit.
- Support and unify faculty around major initiatives, events, or program changes by coordinating and delivering consistent, timely, and clear communication across all relevant channels.
- Foster and protect an environment where faculty freely use and develop the gifts of the Holy Spirit within the established boundaries of Charis’ doctrine and culture, modeling spiritual maturity and honoring the ministry’s leadership and beliefs.
- Own the master academic schedule, providing oversight to the scheduling coordinator to ensure each program delivers the required content each day, maintains appropriate pacing, and accommodates key ministry and campus events.
- Partner with Academics, department leaders, and coordinators to strategically map out core courses, electives, chapels, panels, and ministry labs each term, ensuring alignment with leadership direction and a coherent student learning journey.
- Manage budgets related to Faculty, Scheduling, Student Events, and others stewarding resources wisely, monitoring expenditures, and providing leadership with accurate updates and recommendations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall health, effectiveness, and mission of the academic programs and the ministry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
