Responsibilities
- Provide small group instruction for three, four, and five year olds who have substantial special needs that can be met within a public school program.
- Design prescriptive language, visual, auditory, and fine motor activities.
- Design classroom management techniques for individuals and small groups.
- Maintain close communication with parents and with specialists.
- Prepare semi-annual reports, annual review narratives, and individualized educational plans for pupils in the program.
- Attend special needs staff meetings and designated school staff meetings.
- Submit budget requests, inventory data, and required status reports as requested.
- Massachusetts certification in Early Childhood Education and Teacher of Children with Moderate Special Needs/
- Experience teaching young children with language and/or developmental delays, behavioral disorders, pervasive developmental delays.
- Experience in specific training in speech and language development and behavior management preferred.
- Superior diagnostic and communication skills.
- Master's Degree preferred.
