What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineering Intern/Co-op - Fall 2025 position at Andis Company?
We are looking for 1 Intern/Co-op for the Fall 2025 semester who can work full-time, a combination of onsite and remote, with employment starting in September. An Electrical Engineering Co-op/Intern will support the Electrical Engineering team by performing tests and design changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Upholds Andis Core Values of Excellence, Integrity, and Respect in all work-related activities.
- Product Testing – Including but not limited to: Voltage, Current, temperature, etc.…
- Motor Testing – Speed, Torque, Power, Efficiency, etc.
- Lithium-Ion Battery Testing
- PCB Functionality Testing
- Component Testing – FETs, BJTs, Microcontrollers, Charge Controllers, etc.
- Programming Microcontrollers using C programming language or similar.
- Electronics innovation utilizing development boards.
- Investigating field failures and determining root cause of failure down to component level.
- Developing test reports that clearly highlight test results.
- Competitor product teardown and investigation.
- Process written Engineering Change Requests. Engineering change requests including various 2D drafting work using Electrical CAD, AutoCAD, bill of material changes and the writing of an Engineering Change Notice. This work is being done under close direction from a designer or engineer.
- Utilizes knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, and other physical sciences to create or change 2D drawings using Electrical CAD, and or AutoCAD.
- Have the ability to make small design changes to 3D models previously created using the Solid Works program is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited technical school or university studying toward an associate/bachelor’s degree in Electrical/ Electronic or Equivalent Engineering degree program. Must have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.75/4.0.
- Proficient in MS Office, preferably Word, Power point and Excel. Experience with Circuit and PCB design software is a plus (Example – KiCad, Eagle, Altium, etc.). Experience with circuit simulation software is a plus (Example – LTSpice, Multisim, etc.) Experience with AutoCAD and Solidworks is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write Engineering Change Notices and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Engineers, Designers and Peers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
