Machine Operator - 2nd shift

Machine operators uses a variety of manual, automatic, and computerized equipment including but not limited to punch presses, mills, drills, tapping machines, grinders, sanders, or other miscellaneous equipment that may cut, bend, or manipulate metal to produce components in a temperature controlled environment. This position would start at $22.35 per hour and would move to $24.56 after 90 days, pending successful attendance and performance. $1.50 per hour shift differential for 2nd shift would also be included.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBLIITIES:

• Job Preparation and Setup: Per routings, maybe responsible for selecting and applying proper belts, wheels, wear plates, grits, taps, inserts, holders, etc. to perform minor setup or adjustments or otherwise ready the work operation. May need to adjust machine speeds. May require use of hand tools.

• Machine Operation: Follow established procedures to load and unload parts. Use buttons, levers, or foot pedals asappropriate toactivate machinery. Observe machine operation for proper operation.
• Inspection: Visually inspect work pieces to detect flaws. Where required, measure workpiecewith micrometers, calipers, and/or other gauges and complete IPS sheets.
• Clean Up: Perform minor machine cleaning such as removing scrap metal from coolant screens andworktablesas prescribed. Keep the area neat and orderly.
• Safety: Responsible for ensuring all guarding is in place and operational prior to running equipment. Responsible for reporting abnormalities and abiding by all safety procedures.
• Miscellaneous: As requested, participate in problem solving groups, experimental operations, or new equipment task groups.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
