What You’ll Do
- Design & Build Pipelines: Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and streaming workflows that power data-driven products and analytics.
- Architect Data Systems: Build and optimize data lakes, warehouses, and real-time streaming infrastructure.
- Enable Analytics: Partner with data scientists and analysts to ensure high-quality, well-structured, and discoverable datasets.
- Ensure Reliability: Implement best practices for testing, monitoring, and observability across all data systems.
- Optimize Performance: Tune data infrastructure for speed, scale, and cost efficiency in cloud environments.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product and engineering teams to deliver data solutions that meet business and customer needs.
- Mentor & Elevate: Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and help shape engineering culture in a fast-growing startup.
- Professional Experience: 5–8 years of data engineering experience, ideally in a high-growth or startup environment.
- Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python or Scala, with solid knowledge of SQL.
- Data Platforms: Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lake technologies.
- Streaming & Orchestration: Familiarity with Kafka, Spark, Flink, Airflow, dbt, or similar frameworks.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong experience with cloud-native data services on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Data Modeling: Understanding of data modeling, governance, and performance optimization for large-scale systems.
- Startup Mindset: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and a strong sense of ownership.
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
