Founding Forward Deployed Engineering Lead
Andiamo is hiring on behalf of a client building enterprise software for the brokerage and financial services ecosystem. This is a founding leadership opportunity for a deeply technical engineer who wants to work directly with customers, solve complex implementation challenges, and build the Forward Deployed Engineering function from the ground up.
About The Role
This role sits at the center of engineering, product, and customer success. You will partner with some of the largest brokerage organizations in the world to understand their workflows, implement software in complex environments, and ensure customers achieve meaningful business outcomes.
In the beginning, this will be a highly hands-on role. You will write code, work directly with customer stakeholders, lead implementations, and solve ambiguous technical problems yourself. Over time, you will hire, mentor, and scale a team of Forward Deployed Engineers while defining the playbook for how customer-facing technical delivery should operate.

What You’ll Do
- Lead technical implementation work for enterprise brokerage customers, from discovery through deployment and adoption.
- Work directly with end users, operators, executives, and technical stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, requirements, and success criteria.
- Write production-quality code to solve customer-specific implementation challenges and accelerate successful deployments.
- Partner with Customer Success to drive measurable outcomes, improve adoption, and ensure customer implementations are successful.
- Identify patterns across customer needs and translate them into product insights, platform improvements, and scalable capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to align field learnings with roadmap priorities.
- Build the Forward Deployed Engineering function, including hiring, onboarding, operating processes, technical standards, and delivery practices.
- Establish a high bar for customer-facing engineering, implementation quality, documentation, and execution discipline.
- Operate with significant autonomy, making strong technical and customer-facing decisions with limited oversight.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming ability in at least one of the following: TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Go.
- Experience with SQL, data modeling, and working with structured business data.
- Ability to independently lead complex, ambiguous projects and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with senior customer stakeholders.
- Strong project ownership, execution discipline, and follow-through.
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed, approximately 25%.
- Experience with AI platforms, generative AI, LLMs, or AI-enabled enterprise software.
- Background working in an early-stage startup or similarly fast-moving environment.
- Experience building customer-facing technical teams, solutions engineering functions, or implementation engineering practices.
- Familiarity with brokerage, financial services, capital markets, or workflow-heavy enterprise environments.
