What You’ll Do
- Build Core Services: Develop APIs, services, and data pipelines that support trading, research, and risk management workflows.
- Ensure Reliability & Scale: Design backend systems to handle high-throughput, low-latency workloads in real-time environments.
- Work with Data: Build and optimize systems for ingesting, storing, and serving large volumes of financial and market data.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with frontend engineers, quantitative researchers, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Maintain Code Quality: Write clean, testable, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews and best practices.
- Operational Ownership: Monitor, debug, and improve backend services to ensure uptime and performance under demanding conditions.
- Professional Experience: 5 years of backend engineering experience, ideally in data-intensive or real-time systems.
- Languages: Proficiency in Python, Java, or C ; familiarity with Go or Rust is a plus.
- Databases: Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and distributed data stores (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
- Messaging & Streaming: Knowledge of Kafka, Pulsar, or other event-driven architectures.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure; containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
- APIs: Experience designing and scaling RESTful or gRPC APIs in production.
- Security: Understanding of authentication, encryption, and secure coding practices, especially in financial systems.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with researchers, traders, and other engineers.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
