Business Development Consultant

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Consultant to join a high-performing sales team dedicated to building strong partnerships with financial advisors. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of driving growth by introducing new advisors to innovative wealth management solutions, cutting-edge technology, and client engagement strategies. This position is ideal for a sales professional who thrives on turning first conversations into trusted, long-term business relationships. You’ll be instrumental in helping advisors strengthen their practices and achieve meaningful results for their clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with prospective financial advisors to demonstrate how comprehensive wealth management resources can enhance their practices and client offerings.
  • Provide consultative advice on products, portfolio positioning, investment performance, and client engagement strategies.
  • Deliver polished, persuasive presentations at advisor-focused events to highlight the value of available solutions.
  • Conduct proactive outreach, including cold calling and targeted campaigns, leveraging lead sources and CRM tools to generate new opportunities.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, ensuring seamless handoff to regional sales teams for continued relationship growth.
  • Travel up to 30% to attend client meetings, industry conferences, and territory events.

Skills & Competencies

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize shifting objectives while maintaining focus on long-term goals.
  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Experience evaluating managed money platforms and investment products.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Comfort with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for pipeline and territory management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • 4 years of successful sales experience, including both phone and face-to-face engagements.
  • Proven ability to generate leads and manage sales cycles through CRM systems.
  • Active FINRA licenses required: Series 6, 63, and 65, or Series 7 and 66.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $65,000 – $80,000, based on skills, experience, and location.
  • Sales Incentive Plan: Opportunity to earn up to $80,000 annually, tied to performance and achievement of defined goals.
  • Hybrid work flexibility for candidates located near Phoenix, AZ.
