Platform Architect

We are seeking a Platform Architect to design and build the technical foundation that enables our product, care, and analytical teams to move quickly without compromising reliability or security. This role focuses heavily on platform architecture, DevSecOps maturity, and the internal developer experience.

You will build the cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and internal platforms that allow engineers, applied AI developers, and non-technical stakeholders to safely build and modify applications. By establishing clear guardrails and abstractions, you will enable modern AI-assisted development and ensure our systems remain observable, modular, testable, and resilient.

What You’ll Do

Architect the Platform and Cloud Infrastructure

• Design and implement the core technical architecture and cloud infrastructure supporting our platform and AI-driven applications.
• Manage containerized workloads and orchestration frameworks to ensure systems are secure, reliable, observable, and scalable.
• Design large-scale systems with clear boundaries between services, infrastructure, and product logic.

Build a World-Class DevSecOps Environment

• Evaluate and evolve our existing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code practices, identifying opportunities to extend coverage, reduce manual steps, and increase consistency across environments.
• Strengthen our security posture by embedding security practices earlier in the development lifecycle, including automated vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and policy-as-code.
• Partner with compliance and engineering teams to streamline our SOC II and HIPAA compliance workflows, improving how we manage, triage, and respond to findings.

Enable AI-Assisted Development 

• Design systems that support AI-assisted coding workflows, establishing structured codebases, strong API contracts, and automated validation pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with technology-minded stakeholders and executives to design infrastructure that supports and scales new AI-driven capabilities.
• Make the system safe for rapid iteration using modern AI coding tools.
• Stay on the forefront of available AI coding tools and help safely enable the software engineers with the latest that’s available

Drive Developer Experience and Product Enablement

• Design technical abstractions, internal configuration systems, and dynamic workflow engines that allow product teams to safely make changes without deep engineering involvement.
• Continuously reduce build/deployment friction and simplify service creation to improve the internal developer experience.
• Own Observability and Operational Excellence
• Establish robust systems for monitoring and diagnosing production behavior, including centralized logging, distributed tracing, and anomaly detection.
• Continuously monitor system performance to improve platform reliability and efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 7-10 years of software engineering experience, with deep technical expertise in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure (Staff/Principal level preferred). Equivalent professional experience is highly valued; Bachelor's in CS/Engineering preferred.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with modern cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP—with GCP strongly preferred).
• DevSecOps & Infrastructure: Expert-level experience with CI/CD architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code tools, and containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Systems Architecture: Strong background in integrating complex systems, third-party APIs, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines.
• Collaboration & Ownership: High degree of ownership with the ability to partner effectively with product, data, clinical, and engineering teams to translate operational needs into scalable technical systems.
• Security & Compliance: Familiarity with security best practices in regulated environments, including experience implementing or managing controls for HIPAA and SOC II compliance. Experience integrating compliance tooling (e.g., Vanta) into engineering workflows and building processes that keep compliance continuous rather than periodic.
