About the role
Anderson Music Academy is a thriving private music school in McMurray, PA (Peters Township, in the Pittsburgh South Hills), with roughly 280 students and a faculty of working musicians. We're hiring a part-time voice and piano teacher to work with students of all ages and levels.
You focus on teaching — we handle scheduling, billing, and routing students to you. You build a full roster without ever having to chase your own leads.
Schedule
- In-person at our McMurray studio
- Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturday mornings
- Teaching days build toward about six hours as your roster fills
Pay
$35–$38/hour, depending on experience.
What you'll do
- Teach engaging private voice and/or piano lessons, tailored to each student's level and goals
- Create a warm, encouraging environment that keeps students motivated
- Track progress and give clear, constructive feedback
- Prepare students for recitals and performances
- Keep parents in the loop on their child's progress
What we're looking for
- Strong skill in voice and/or piano (both is a plus)
- Genuine warmth and patience with students of all ages, from young beginners to adults
- Reliability and good communication
- Teaching experience is welcome — and we're glad to hear from exceptional early-career musicians, too. We'll support your growth.
Nice to have, not required: music theory, guitar or percussion, experience with younger children.
