About the Role
We are partnering with a growing manufacturing company that is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to support their growing operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing customer orders, determining the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods, and ensuring shipments are executed accurately and on time.
With an extensive product catalog and diverse customer requirements, success in this position requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to navigate shipping complexities across a large SKU portfolio. You will serve as a key liaison between Sales, Customer Service, Shipping, and freight carriers to ensure every order reaches its destination efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer orders and determine appropriate shipping methods based on weight, pallet count, piece count, and delivery requirements.
- Select optimal transportation solutions, including parcel, ground, and LTL freight options.
- Apply product-specific shipping configurations across a broad and diverse SKU catalog.
- Identify and accommodate customer-specific shipping requirements, including:
- Residential deliveries
- Liftgate services
- Delivery appointments
- Special routing instructions
- Utilize Odyssey or other Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to obtain freight quotes and evaluate carrier options.
- Balance customer service expectations with transportation costs to select the most effective shipping solution.
- Update NetSuite with accurate freight methods, pallet counts, shipment details, and related information.
- Coordinate closely with Sales, Customer Service, Shipping, and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Communicate directly with customers and carriers regarding shipping inquiries and delivery requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation to support on-time deliveries, freight audits, and billing accuracy.
- Assist in resolving shipping discrepancies, carrier issues, and order-related exceptions.
Qualifications
Required
- 1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, freight coordination, shipping, or order processing.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working with detailed shipping requirements and order exceptions.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and business applications.
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environment.
- Knowledge of LTL and parcel shipping operations.
- Familiarity with freight classifications, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and carrier routing.
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS), including Odyssey or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of NetSuite.
- Experience coordinating freight carriers and obtaining shipping quotes.
