Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position manages the full accounting cycle, supports strategic financial planning, and partners with leadership to drive sound financial decision-making.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-driven environments and possesses a strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full accounting cycle, including:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic decision-making.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning.
- Analyze product costs, gross margins, and overall profitability.
- Evaluate capital investments and calculate return on investment (ROI) for business initiatives.
- Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare and administer sales commission calculations and reporting.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff while ensuring timely completion of department objectives.
- Present financial results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and business insights to senior leadership on a regular basis.
- Support inventory controls and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
- Continuously evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to strengthen internal controls and increase efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with cost accounting and inventory accounting.
- Background in manufacturing, distribution, food & beverage, consumer products, or similar industries preferred.
- Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
