Anderson Environmental Contracting (AEC) is a growing environmental construction company delivering complex, high-stakes projects across remediation, fuel systems, and infrastructure work.
We are looking for an Accounting Assistant who wants more than a transactional role - someone who can take ownership of the payables process, support job cost accuracy, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Core Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Job Cost Support
- Process high-volume accounts payable with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
- Maintain and manage vendor records and compliance documentation
- Code invoices to the correct jobs and cost categories within the job cost system
- Input invoices and credit card activity into accounting systems
- Prepare and execute weekly check runs (physical and electronic payments)
- Support sales, use, and B&O tax reconciliations and filings
- Manage vehicle registrations
Office & Administrative Support
- Serve as a first point of contact for visitors, deliveries, and incoming calls
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Maintain organized filing systems (physical and digital)
- Support general office operations, supplies, and coordination needs
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in construction or a high-volume environment
- Experience processing large check runs (50 vendors per cycle)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, with a strong working knowledge of Excel
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat for document processing and management
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently without sacrificing accuracy
- Resourceful problem-solver with a proactive mindset
- Experience with ComputerEase or similar job cost accounting software is preferred

Compensation & Benefits
$20-$28/hour, full time
