Duties
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process transactions swiftly and securely
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and provide product information to enhance their shopping experience
- Upsell products and suggest add-on items to boost sales while meeting customer needs
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits effectively
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store looks inviting
- Handle cash handling responsibilities with precision, including giving correct change and balancing registers at shift end
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Support grocery store operations by assisting with inventory management, stocking, and basic retail math calculations
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred; supervisory experience is a plus for leadership opportunities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math concepts
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or experience in a similar retail environment is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
