JOB DESCRIPTION
ANDERSON COMMUNITY SCHOOL CORPORATION
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as a secretary deans’ office and high school attendance.
2. Reviews and screens incoming correspondence and communications routed to the school
administrator.
3. Refers specific communications or correspondence to appropriate staff members for the
gathering of data for the administrator's review.
4. Initiates follow-up activities to ensure that the operational time lines are met.
5. Arranges correspondence for supervisor's personal reply with appropriate background
materials.
6. Independently or in accordance with general instructions, composes correspondence
concerning a wide range of subjects requiring a thorough knowledge of policies, regulations,
and operational procedures.
7. Reviews outgoing correspondence and other materials to ensure consistency with policies,
regulations, operational procedures, formatting, grammatical construction, and punctuation.
8. Takes notes of meetings and conferences, and prepares an accurate summary.
9. Takes and transcribes dictation pertaining to a wide variety of subject areas, including
materials that may be of a privileged or sensitive nature.
10. Administers first aid to students and contact parents and emergency assistance agencies in
the cases of serious illness or injury
11. Serves as an administrative aide by receiving and responding to inquiries from either office
visitors or from telephone contacts.
12. Prepares input data for a computerized record management, storage, and retrieval system,
and utilize the output reports in the office operational functions.
13. Requisitions, orders and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and instructional
materials.
14. Maintains a variety of records and files, which may include student, personnel, budget,
expenditure, payroll, and a variety of other related records and files.
15. Schedules and organizes the clerical functions of the office.
16. Provides input concerning the technical evaluation of the other clerical staff.
17. Assists in the scheduling of school facilities pertaining to civic center use.
18. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
