Position Overview:
New Castle High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our instructional team. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Indiana Academic Standards in one or more science disciplines (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science).
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, laboratory experiences, and technology to support diverse learners and promote critical thinking.
- Create a structured, safe, and engaging classroom environment that fosters student curiosity, collaboration, and scientific literacy.
- Develop and implement both formative and summative assessments; analyze data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes.
- Incorporate real-world applications and interdisciplinary connections to enhance student learning and relevance.
- Collaborate with department members and staff to ensure alignment of curriculum, assessments, and instructional practices.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school improvement initiatives.
- Maintain timely and effective communication with students, parents/guardians, and staff regarding student progress and expectations.
- Uphold school policies and contribute positively to the culture and mission of New Castle High School.
Requirements:
- Must hold or be eligible for a valid Indiana teaching license.
- Certification in Secondary Science (Grades 5–12) in an appropriate content area.
