Paralegal, Real Estate & Property Management
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and assertive Paralegal to assist with legal process readiness for the financial recovery of outstanding receivables. The ideal candidate will be proactive in contacting aging accounts, assisting with negotiating payment arrangements, and detailed preparation of accounts for legal actions.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Preparation & Escalation
- Assemble and organize account documentation for potential legal filings, including:
- Demand letters
- Garnishment packages
- Lien documentation
- Small claims or civil filings
- Collaborate with legal counsel or supervisor to ensure filings are accurate and timely.
- Track and manage the lifecycle of legal actions.
Reporting & Strategy
- Monitor and report on collection efforts, legal filings, and recovery success rates.
- Identify trends and recommend strategies to improve recovery and reduce delinquency.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and internal policies.
Account Resolution
- Handles second phase of contacting delinquent accounts
- Assist with negotiating payment plans, settlements, or other resolutions
- Maintain detailed records of communication, agreements, and follow-up actions.
Qualifications
- Paralegal training and/or legal administrative experience.
- Strong understanding of legal processes related to debt recovery preferred
- Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills.
- Working knowledge of landlord, tenant laws, and Fair Housing regulations preferred.
- Proficiency in CRM or similar software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with precision.
- Experience in collections, credit management, or accounts receivable a plus.
