Position Summary
The Senior HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role also involves mentoring junior technicians, ensuring high-quality service, and supporting project planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and service HVAC systems including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units
- Diagnose complex system issues and perform advanced repairs
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure system efficiency and longevity
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
- Lead or assist with system design, upgrades, and retrofits
- Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices
- Communicate with customers to explain issues, solutions, and maintenance recommendations
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project managers as needed
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical school or HVAC certification preferred)
- 5–10 years of HVAC experience
- EPA Section 608 Certification (required in the U.S.)
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical components, and refrigerant cycles
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification
- Experience with commercial HVAC systems and controls (e.g., BAS/DDC systems)
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- OSHA safety training

- $27 - $38 per hour (based on experience)
