Position Overview
The Controller will play a critical role in managing the company’s day-to-day accounting operations while partnering closely with the VP of Finance. This is a highly involved, roll-up-your-sleeves position that requires both attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger financial picture. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, ambitious, and driven to grow alongside the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and actively participate in daily accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and inventory accounting
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review financial statements and internal reports
- Maintain and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations
- Assist with audits, compliance, and regulatory reporting as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Alternatively, 7 years of relevant Controllership or senior accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to manage full-cycle accounting and month-end close
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to balance hands-on tasks with strategic thinking
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and comfortable in a fast-growing environment
