Full-time | Irving, TX Hybrid (M, W, F on-site)
Position Summary
Anchor Point Management Group (APMG) is hiring a Senior BI Developer (Business Integration Specialist) to join its Business Intelligence team. This is a senior individual-contributor role that combines hands-on data engineering and analytics with technical leadership across the BI function. The Senior BI Developer works directly with business and leadership stakeholders across APMG’s portfolio of restaurant, hospitality, and retail brands to shape requirements, design solutions, and deliver reliable, scalable data and reporting. The position owns and advances APMG’s reporting environment, with primary responsibility for ETL/ELT processes, medallion architecture, and data integrity in a Snowflake environment. Beyond delivering their own work, the Senior BI Developer sets technical and quality standards, mentors other developers, and leads coordinated changes across shared data models and downstream consumers. The Senior BI Developer is a trusted technical advisor who anticipates problems before they cause rework, sets a high standard for analytical rigor and engineering quality, and helps the BI function scale.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design scalable, well-structured data models and medallion/dimensional architecture that support current needs and future growth, making architecture decisions (such as materialization strategy and layer design) with long-term maintainability in mind.
- Build, maintain, and optimize complex ETL/ELT pipelines in Snowflake using Snowpipe for ingestion and dbt for transformation, and integrate data from APIs, webhooks, SFTP, web scraping, and file based feeds.
- Establish and enforce development and validation standards for SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau, and ensure they are applied consistently across the team.
- Anticipate unclear or conflicting requirements before they cause rework; challenge incomplete definitions and align stakeholders on consistent business logic before development begins.
- Lead coordinated releases for shared data models, including impact assessment, stakeholder communication, validation checkpoints, and rollback plans.
- Independently investigate complex, multi-system data issues, identify systemic root causes, and drive resolution at the source rather than the symptom.
- Mentor and review the work of other BI developers, elevating quality through code review, knowledge sharing, and coaching on reconciliation, modeling, and optimization.
- Represent the BI team in stakeholder discussions, leadership reviews, and cross-functional meetings, communicating risk, trade-offs, and constraints clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
- Define documentation and ticketing standards that the broader team adopts and ensure consistency and completeness across deliverables. Evaluate new tools, platform features, and techniques, and recommend adoption when they improve the environment.
- Manage delivery across multiple concurrent projects, balancing scope, risk, and capacity, and flagging unrealistic commitments early.
- Keep the BI platform and toolset aligned with APMG’s current objectives and future goals.
