Blown Film Mixer

*** This is a Safety Sensitive Position under the Medicinal Marijuana Provisions of the State of Arkansas.***

PURPOSE 

Blends all chemicals (including regrind material) in the appropriate amounts as stated by the Anchor Packaging Quality Dockets for the manufacturing of specified plastic formulations by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Closely monitors the HMI touchscreen to ensure the correct formulae are being run and all automatic scales are filling and emptying to the correct weights.
2. Weighs out “Hand add” chemicals for each batch to correct weights to add in at appropriate time.
3. Monitors compounder temperatures to confirm that the correct heating temps (or times) are being reached.
4. Monitors cooler temperatures to confirm that the correct cooling temps (or times) are being reached.
5. Add in appropriate regrind material in cooler chute according to formulae being ran.
6. Visually confirms that mix is being placed into correct silo for use at blown film lines.
7. Must be able to read and understand instructions for and perform calibrations on the weight scales for both solid and liquid chemicals.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related training or experience, basic Blown Film Helper job training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak to Auditors when necessary and explain essential functions of their job if/when asked.

MATH ABILITY

Basic arithmetic skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

COMPUTER SKILLS

 No computer skills needed.

CERTIFICATE AND LICENSES

 No certifications are needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. 
2. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places and extreme heat (non-weather).

2. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Blown Film Mixers add regrind to the cooler by using a bucket.        Buckets usually weigh less than 10 lbs.; however, up to 20 buckets can be added per mix.  Mixers also handle 50-100lbs bags and drums of the raw materials to position them for use.
