Job Overview
Join our pediatric dental team as a Full-Time Dental Assistant, helping create a positive, comfortable experience for children and their families. You will provide chairside support, keep the clinic running smoothly, and play an active role in promoting healthy smiles for kids.
Responsibilities
- Assist the pediatric dentist and hygienist during exams and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare and turn over treatment rooms, setting up instruments, materials, and supplies and maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Take and process dental radiographs (digital X-rays and 3D scans) in accordance with radiation safety protocols.
- Accurately manage and update patient charts, medical histories, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA.
- Prepare patients for procedures, review and document medical history, and verify/update medical information.
- Educate children and parents on oral hygiene, preventive care, treatment plans, and post-op instructions in a child-friendly, clear manner.
- Assist with front office tasks, including scheduling, answering phones, and helping the receptionist to support efficient patient flow.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following OSHA and office infection control standards.
- Use basic medical/dental coding for billing as needed and document procedures accurately.
Qualifications
- Experience as a dental assistant in pediatric or general dentistry preferred; willing to train the right motivated candidate.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, basic dental anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to operate dental imaging equipment (X-ray, digital processor) safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with a calm, patient, and friendly manner around children and parents.
- Understanding of HIPAA and confidentiality standards; experience with medical coding a plus.
- Proficient in four-handed dentistry and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical setting.
- Able to stand for extended periods, assist with patient positioning, and safely handle clinical equipment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
