Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. You will be required to prepare the operating room, arrange surgical equipment, and ensure a sterile environment. Your role will be crucial in providing quality patient care and facilitating successful surgeries.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating room for surgeries
2. Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
3. Maintain sterile field throughout surgeries
4. Set up and operate surgical equipment
5. Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous materials
6. Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort
7. Monitor patient's vital signs during surgery
8. Participate in pre-operative and post-operative procedures
9. Keep accurate records of surgical instruments and supplies
10. Adhere to infection control protocols
11. Assist with patient transportation and positioning
12. Provide support to surgeons and nurses as needed
13. Stay updated on surgical techniques and technology
14. Maintain certification and licensure requirements
15. Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program
3. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
4. Strong attention to detail
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
8. Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
9. Understanding of surgical procedures and protocols
10. Physical stamina and dexterity
