Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team. The Labor and Delivery Nurse will be responsible for providing care to expectant mothers throughout the labor and delivery process, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for both mother and baby. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor the progress of labor and assess the condition of both mother and baby
- Administer medications and interventions as needed to ensure a safe delivery
- Assist with the delivery of the baby and provide immediate postpartum care
- Educate new parents on newborn care and breastfeeding techniques
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Participate in emergency situations and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
