Job Title: Perioperative RN / Day Surgery Admit Nurse
Job Summary:
As a Perioperative RN / Day Surgery Admit Nurse, you will be responsible for admitting patients scheduled for day surgery procedures and providing comprehensive nursing care throughout the perioperative process. You will work closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and screenings
- Review patient medical histories and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed
- Administer medications and prepare patients for surgery
- Monitor patients during surgery and assist with any necessary procedures
- Provide post-operative care and monitoring
- Educate patients on post-operative care instructions
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in perioperative or day surgery settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols
