Job Description

Job Title: OR Technologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced OR Technologist to join our surgical team. The OR Technologist will be responsible for assisting surgeons and nurses in the operating room by setting up equipment, sterilizing instruments, and ensuring the operating room is prepared for procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Prepare operating room for surgeries by setting up surgical equipment and supplies
• Sterilize and organize surgical instruments
• Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies to surgeons and nurses
• Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room
• Clean and restock operating room after procedures
• Handle and dispose of biohazardous waste according to hospital protocols
• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures at all times

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a surgical technology program or equivalent experience
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
• Previous experience working in an operating room setting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment
• Basic computer skills
