Job Title: Infusion RN, Oncology Nurse
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Infusion RN specializing in oncology to join our team. The Infusion RN, Oncology Nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy, managing side effects, and providing emotional support to cancer patients. This role plays a crucial part in the treatment and care of oncology patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout their treatment journey.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Administer chemotherapy medications and other infusion therapies
- Monitor patients for side effects and provide appropriate interventions
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and medications
- Work closely with oncologists and other healthcare providers to coordinate care
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families
- Stay up-to-date on current practices and research in oncology nursing
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Certification in oncology nursing preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in oncology or infusion therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment
- Knowledge of chemotherapy drugs and their side effects
