Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following proper food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen stations by removing trash, sweeping floors, and disinfecting work areas regularly
- Assist with bussing tables and clearing dining areas to support seamless food service operations
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of pots, pans, and large quantities of dishware safely and correctly
- Operate kitchen equipment including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools in accordance with safety standards
- Support food preparation activities when needed by organizing supplies and ensuring cleanliness of prep areas
- Follow all sanitation protocols to uphold kitchen health and safety standards at all times
Skills
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety management practices
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and sinks
- Strong understanding of sanitation practices related to kitchen health and safety standards
- Experience with catering or banquet service can be an advantage but is not mandatory
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary staff and maintaining a clean environment
