Position Summary:
Strategic, detail-oriented Purchasing Manager who will also serve in a key capacity as a Senior Buyer. This person is a subject matter expert in procurement of electronic components for PCBA contract manufacturing and will be the lead supply chain role at our Burnsville, MN manufacturing site. Working alongside the corporate Supply Chain Manager and local leadership, this person will negotiate and employ supplier/broker contracts to ensure longevity in business relationships and cost-saving initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics manufacturing and a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics in a fast-paced, contract manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead Purchasing Team to ensure material is on site and ready when customer jobs are scheduled for production.
- Ensure all purchases and processes comply with company policies, customer requirements, AS9100 quality system, and regulatory requirements.
- Aligns site with corporate Supply Chain initiatives; identify, evaluate and manage suppliers for electrical components, PCBVs, mechanical parts and consumables, negotiating pricing, terms and contracts.
- Researches, analyzes, and forecasts current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products with attention to specified target market and demographics.
- Analyze reports/MRP, communicate with suppliers for potential problems. Take initiative to resolve said problem through communication and making necessary changes to MRP/Purchase orders. Escalate internally to resolve customer issues in a timely fashion.
- Leverage ERP and MES system to effectively manage materials, monitor status and report on cost trends, supplier performance and inventory.
- Work closely and provide effective communication with all departments, including Customer Account Services, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure proper throughput of information is in place for every customer order.
- Proactively work with suppliers to address end of life, at risk, or any changes in lead times for supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position will lead the Purchasing Team at the Burnsville, MN manufacturing site.
Qualifications: (Education, Training, Skills, and Experience)
- 5 years of procurement-related experience or demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the purchasing tasks.
- Proven track record of driving cost reduction through purchasing of materials.
- Prior lead experience or experience coaching/mentoring others.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
- Two plus years of Management experience.
- Experience in Electronics Manufacturing and/or Contract Manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and familiarization in process improvement initiatives.
- PCBA/Electronic Component familiarization/knowledge.
- Certification in Supply Chain or Procurement (ex. CPM, CPSM, APICS).
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
