GENERAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES SUPERVISORY AND ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS: Supervises, organizes, coordinates, and plans the day-to-day cleaning and custodial and athletic facility functions at a district school plant to assure effective work flow and facility operations; conducts inspections of custodial work, equipment, and maintenance of district school plant buildings and athletic facilities to assure work is completed accurately and in compliance with established standards; confers with school administrators regarding custodial, special and athletic events and minor maintenance projects at an assigned district school plant; assists faculty, staff and students with custodial and athletic issues, student activities, and events to coordinate duties and assignments; trains, evaluates and supervises employees assigned to custodial and athletic facility duties; develops, prepares, reviews, prioritizes and assigns work schedules and duties to assure proper completion of work; recommends disciplinary or other action as necessary; and reviews and approves time sheets of assigned staff; prepares and maintains records, files, logs, and reports related to payroll, inventory, supplies, work requests, work performed, vandalism and safety issues; emails requests for custodial/athletic facility substitutes and completes personnel requisitions for custodial vacancies as needed; determines, verifies, requests, receives and distributes custodial equipment, materials and supplies for operation of the site; maintains security of buildings and assigned areas by locking and unlocking rooms
Requirements / Qualifications
INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of experience, education and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical combination would be the following: EDUCATION: Graduation from high school, preferably supplemented by additional courses in personnel management, supervision, or related subjects. EXPERIENCE: Three years custodial experience including one year of supervisory experience - or - completion of a supervisory certificate program. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid, appropriate California Driver's License at time of appointment, and throughout employment in a position in this classification; evidence of adequate insurance for motor vehicle which meets the California legal liability insurance requirement and continual insurance coverage throughout employment. Conditions of Employment/Physical Requirements:Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination.
