What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yacht Systems Mechanic position at Anacortes Yacht Charters?
Anacortes Yacht Charters are looking for reliable, professional, experienced people to join our #1 rated charter company. Our in-house Service Department is a critical component to our success. We are looking for Master Mechanics, as well as journeyman with a willingness and ability to learn and grow their skills. With 45 years of experience, we have a great operation with many established seasoned employees.
Hours: Full Time 40 hours per week, expect longer hours during the summer boating season. Weekend work required (May-Oct.), Monday-Friday (November-April) Overtime required as needed. Two consecutive days off no matter the season.
Wage: Hourly $20-$40, D.O.E. – prior industry experience is required for higher pay scale.
Benefits: Paid Sick Leave for all. Qualified Candidates will receive 2 weeks Paid Time off Accrual, Paid Designated Holidays, and 50% Medical/Dental/Vision coverage.
Candidates will have:
- Hands on experience with on board systems for both Power & Sail yachts. Including but not limited to:
- Diesel Main Engines & Generators- basic servicing, troubleshooting and repair.
- Outboard Engines- basic servicing, troubleshooting and repair.
- Electrical Systems, batteries, inverters/chargers, electronics; ABYC Certified a plus.
- Fresh Water, Grey & Black Water Plumbing
- Troubleshoot wide variety of systems in a charter service fleet of 55 boats
- Previous experience with vessel repair and maintenance.
- The ability to thoroughly and legibly complete all daily paperwork.
- A willingness to work as necessary to get the job done.
- The ability to be self-motivated and work efficiently.
- Ability to guide and setup Mechanic Assistants on various projects.
- Boat handling skills preferred, local knowledge a plus. Not required.
- A team attitude, be willing to help other departments as needed.
