Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Inside Sales Intern to support our government contracting team in the DIBBS (Defense Internet Bid Board System) bidding process. This role is designed for individuals interested in sales, government procurement, and supply chain operations. The intern will assist in identifying opportunities, preparing bids, and supporting the sales team in managing government solicitations.
This internship offers hands-on experience in federal contracting, business development, and the sales lifecycle, with opportunities to learn compliance requirements, pricing strategies, and customer engagement in the defense sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Opportunity Research
- Assist in monitoring and reviewing DIBBS opportunities daily.
- Help track open solicitations, RFQs, and RFPs that align with company capabilities.
- Bid Preparation & Support
- Gather pricing, supplier quotes, and technical data to support bid packages.
- Help prepare and organize documentation for submissions.
- Ensure all bids comply with Buy American Act, TAA, and other federal requirements.
- Sales Support
- Enter and maintain data in CRM and tracking systems.
- Assist with order status updates, customer communication, and follow-ups.
- Support reporting of sales pipeline and bid performance metrics.
- Market & Competitor Insights
- Conduct research on procurement trends and competitive landscape.
- Assist sales team with data analysis to improve bidding strategies.
- Administrative & Learning Functions
- Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions.
- Assist with documentation, filing, and other clerical duties related to sales.
- Learn and apply federal contracting terminology, acronyms, and workflows.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, Government/Political Science, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with ERP or CRM systems a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interest in government contracting, procurement, or sales operations.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Basic knowledge of DIBBS, , or other government procurement platforms.
- Ability to analyze data and summarize findings.
- Experience with research, spreadsheets, and reporting.
