We’re looking for a digitally fluent, culturally tuned-in leader to join our team as Director of Social Media. In this role, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of social and influencer efforts for Amylu Foods, building buzz, deepening consumer connection, and driving conversion both online and at shelf.
This role is ideal for someone who blends creative vision with sharp execution, understands the role of social in a retail-driven environment, and thrives at the intersection of culture, commerce, and community. This role will report to the VP of Marketing and will play an integral part of the development and expansion of our social media team. The right candidate will be eager to build a team of direct reports that can support our growth goals.
Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy & Leadership
- Own the paid and organic social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and emerging platforms
- Define how the brand shows up across platforms—establishing voice, visual style, and content pillars that resonate with our consumer
- Build and manage a full-funnel content calendar that supports brand campaigns, cultural moments, and shopper behavior
- Identify opportunities to bridge digital and in-store activity through retail-specific content, QR codes, sampling integration, or retailer co-marketing
Influencer & Creator Program Development
- Develop and execute influencer strategies that drive awareness, engagement, and retail velocity
- Lead relationships across a mix of micro, mid-tier, and macro creators — focusing on brand alignment and authentic storytelling
- Partner with influencers to produce content that’s optimized for social and shopper channels
- Manage influencer contracts, briefings, activations, and reporting with strong attention to compliance and brand safety
Content & Community Execution
- Guide the development of compelling, platform-native content that builds emotional connection with consumers
- Create content that not only entertains, but drives product discovery, trials, and in-store purchases
- Monitor trends, engage directly with the community, and adapt strategy in real time
- Collaborate with shopper marketing and design teams to extend social content into retail, PDPs, and omni campaigns
Team & Agency Leadership
- Build, lead and mentor a high-performing team (social content, community, influencer management)
- Manage social agencies and set clear goals, expectations, and feedback loops with all partners
Analytics & Performance Measurement
- Own reporting for social and influencer performance—reach, engagement, traffic, conversions, and retail impact
- Use insights to optimize content mix, posting cadence, creator selection, and campaign timing
- Translate performance into strategic recommendations for future planning and investment
Qualifications
- 8–10 years of experience in brand marketing, with deep expertise in social and influencer marketing
- Background in CPG or retail-driven businesses (food, beverage, or wellness preferred)
- Self-motivated and go-getter attitude with ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Proven track record developing breakthrough short-form video and influencer content
- Comfortable navigating cross-functional collaboration with shopper, creative and sales teams
- Strategic thinker with a creative eye, strong communication skills, and a bias for action
- Data-literate — able to connect performance to impact and tell the story to senior leadership
- Up to date on cultural trends, platform shifts, and digital storytelling best practices
- Experience managing internal teams and external agency partners
- Expert with Meta Business Suite and Ads Manager, Whitelisting, Boosting etc.
