GROUNDS

PURPOSE:

To be responsible for the care of lawns, trees, shrubs, and ground cover so they stay in green, healthy, eye-appealing condition. Grounds Person is essential personnel during inclement weather.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and, or on rare occasions, move more than 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, pest and rodents. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain curb appeal. This includes maintaining both the condition and appearance of the property. Daily pick-up of trash on the property. Be dependable and flexible Be a team player
• Perform watering as needed.
• Maintain the sprinkler system.
• Use insecticides, fertilizers and herbicides as directed.
• Mow and trim lawns.
• Re-seed lawns and re-plant, if necessary.
• Properly stake trees.
• Pick up refuse on the lawns each morning.
• Weed lawns and all other planted areas.
• Properly prune trees and shrubs.
• Make drainage corrections.
• Maintain all sidewalks and steps to be free of snow and ice. To maintain safe ingress and egress for all residents.
• Assist in maintaining a safe work environment
• Knowledge and use of Safety Equipment
• Able to work in all temperatures and weather conditions.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. along and 100 lbs. with assistance
• Perform light maintenance tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
