CLASS A GROUNDS MANAGEMENT has been established since 1994 and services communities in the Richmond and the Tri-Cities area. We offer landscaping and full service grounds maintenance services to commercial and residential customers in the area. The Chemical Application Technician will ensure the appropriate and safe application of approved chemicals to enhance the quality of our residential and commercial clients' landscape.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Have complete knowledge of and calibration of chemical application equipment
- Experience working with chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers
- Understanding of governmental regulations, Material Safety Data Sheets and manufacturer's
- Instructions for granular and spray chemicals within the landscape industry
- Responsibility for ensuring chemical job site quality and that site appearance meets client and company standards.
- Complete chemical job customer reports for all customers and provide to management on a timely basis.
- Effectively monitor turf grass health and identify insect or disease problems.
- Provide hands on training and support of chemical crew personnel in areas such as proper operation of equipment, job safety and quality standards.
Requirements:
- Be an approved chemical application technician
- Become a certified chemical applicator within 90 days of the minimum time required of being a technician
- In addition, Chemical Application Technician will perform hands-on work with crews, as needed, to meet work and scheduling demands.

POSITION SUMMARY
The position carries the overall responsibility for maintaining herbicide, pesticide, and fertilization; strict adherence to all federal, state and local laws and regulations.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Treat specific insect, weed, turf disease and nutritional deficiencies by application of appropriate product.
2. Maintain power spray equipment assigned in a safe, clean and mechanically sound condition at all times.
3. See that all field equipment complies with federal, state and local regulations.
4. Complete spray requests, as per schedule.
5. Discuss with supervisor what is to be done the following day.
6. Maintain accurate records of chemical usage according to all applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
7. Use good judgment in the application of chemicals (exposure to the public, weather conditions and other environmental considerations).
8. Provide and maintain safe physical conditions, per OSHA standards.
ELIGIBILITY
Commercial Applicator license a plus, Registered Technician certificate required

Pay: $15.00 - $26.54 per hour
