Application Manager – Trading Systems

Location: Princeton, NJ (Hybrid: 3 days remote / 2 days in-office)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $225,000 – $275,000 Bonus Stock Options (eligible after 1 year)

Role Overvie

wWe are seeking a highly motivated Application Manager to lead and inspire our software development efforts within a mission-critical securities trading environment. This role is designed for a seasoned professional with a stable work history who began their career as a developer of trading systems and has successfully transitioned into a management role overseeing high-performing development teams

.Reporting to the VP of Trading Systems Development, you will serve as a key decision-maker, balancing technical architecture integrity with project delivery, production support, and long-term strategic planning

.Key Responsibilitie

• sLeadership & Management: Manage software development teams, ensuring adherence to SDLC and Quality Assurance processes. Foster a culture of excellence in delivery and technical rigor
• .Strategic Planning: Drive project planning processes, collaborate with the PMO for tracking/control, and serve as a vital member of the Requirements Committee and Crisis Management Team
• .Architecture & Design: Partner with the management team to maintain the integrity of the trading system architecture, messaging infrastructure, and logical transaction boundaries
• .Technical Governance: Serve as a technical subject matter expert for software design, tactical planning, and the establishment of robust Failure/Recovery paradigms
• .Operational Excellence: Participate in system performance tuning, provide Level 3 production support, and manage software releases according to established workflows
• .Collaboration: Work across teams to translate business requirements into high-quality software deliverables, facilitating tight coordination between development, QA, and Use Case teams

.Candidate Profil

• eCareer Trajectory: A proven track record starting as a hands-on developer in trading systems, followed by a successful, progressive transition into a management role
• .Stability: A consistent and stable work history within the financial services or trading technology sector
• .Domain Expertise: Deep experience in a mission-critical environment; strong preference for candidates with experience in brokerage front-ends or core trading systems
• .Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of influencing senior stakeholders and guiding technical teams through high-pressure situations

• sManagement: Demonstrated experience managing and leading software development teams in a high-stakes, mission-critical environment
• .Delivery: A strong, proven track record of delivering production-quality software on schedule
• .Technical Proficiency: Ability to leverage deep technical subject matter expertise in software design, system performance analysis, and production troubleshooting
• .Process Management: Thorough understanding of SDLC, release management, and formal project tracking methodologies
