Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate creation of shipping documentation, proper packaging methods, safe and secure loading of vehicles and interfacing with freight companies, to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers and suppliers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create shipping documentation, including but not limited to;
- AMTEC Internal Shipping Orders
- Bills of Lading
- Hazardous Materials documents
- Government required forms
- Customs documentation
- Contacting freight companies to obtain quotes and schedule movement of material.
- Prepare and Package material for shipment
- Load trucks
- Deliver packages to FedEx, USPS, etc.
- Maintain AMTEC internal ship log
- Complete Hazardous Materials shipment training and maintain certification in;
- CFR 49
- IATA
- IMDG (Ocean shipments)
- General Warehouse duties and other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
POSITION TYPE:
This is a Salary non-exempt full-time position.
TRAVEL:
Travel (less than 10% of work time).
Requirements:REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years’ previous Shipping experience, including use of FedEx Ship Manager desired. Hazardous Materials certification a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required
- Previous Fork Lift experience required, certification a plus (Rider and Stand Up Lifts)
- Position requires attention to detail, good communication skills, good math skills, good computer experience (Microsoft office, Label making software, etc.), and ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
