Buildings & Grounds Technician/Backup Janitor

JOB TITLE: Buildings & Grounds Technician/Backup Janitor

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

REPORTS TO: Facilities

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the production facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Remove and/or spray weeds around buildings.
2. Remove weeds from all islands in parking lot. (weekly)
3. Remove snow/ice from walkways and doors as needed.
4. Sweep both buildings.
5. Run floor cleaner in both buildings (twice per week)
6. Clean mezzanine’s (Bi-weekly)
7. Clean all inside and outside windows (monthly)
8. Dust offices (weekly)
9. Replace burnt lightbulbs (as needed)
10. Clean walls
11. Collect trash from outside receptacles.
12. Replace down draft filters and HVAC filters.
13. Remove/discard broken pallets.
14. Painting as needed.
15. Assist with other janitorial duties – act as main backup to janitors. (Some 2nd shift coverage may be necessary)
16. Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
17. Regular attendance is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION TYPE:

This is an Hourly full-time position.

TRAVEL:

No travel required.

SHIFT:

8am - 6pm Monday - Thursday

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma with previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
