Director of Finance

Amsterdam Nursing Home is actively seeking a full-time Director of Finance to work in the finance office of our facility. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and be able to effectively multitask; they should also be computer savvy, have a good personality, and be able to work well with others. Familiarity with skilled nursing facility finances, as well as experience dealing with Medicaid, is a requirement.DUTIES:Meeting with residents/families to discuss their financial obligationsGather and submit Medicaid documentation to the Medicaid agencies and see the cases through to approvalInputting of census information into billing and clinical softwareCollection of private and income monies owed to the facilityAssist with the insurance authorization processDistribute resident fundsEnsure that all admission agreements are signedREQUIREMENTS:Other duties as requiredStrong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and HMO processes is a plusHigh comfort level to meet with residents/families to discuss and advise on their financial obligationsMust be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft OfficeShould be highly detailed and organizedABOUT US:With Columbia University and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine among its neighbors, Amsterdam House is located on Amsterdam Avenue at 112 street in New York City.
