What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Analyst position at Amsted Rail Company?
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs a variety of evaluations and inspections to ensure compliance with AAR, customer and internal regulations for both Freight and Transit businesses. Will provide support for technical issues relating to the quality of products, metrology, and nondestructive testing.
- Conduct product evaluations as necessary to qualify new products, approve sample products, and adhere to AAR required testing schedules
- Interpret requirements from engineering drawings, reference standards and specifications.
- Perform dimensional evaluations of products using a variety of methods to include calipers, CMM probing and laser scanning
- Help maintain quality departmental documentation, supporting both product evaluations and nonconformance reporting.
- Participate in company internal audits, certification audits, and support customer audits as required for quality management system goals.
- Pursue experience in nondestructive evaluation methods such as magnetic particle inspection and ultrasonic testing for product evaluation applications
- Create new routines and perform new inspection operations for model-based inspection, utilizing solid models.
MUST HAVE
- Minimum of four-year degree required; preferably in Metallurgical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent computer skills, especially data analysis.
- Excellent communication and people skills
PREFERRED
- Experience in engineering drawing and/or metrology systems (or equivalent CAD experience)

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 to $90,000. The exact salary will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in a competitive bonus program based on individual and company performance.
