What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at Amsted Rail Company?
We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic - Technician at our Camp Hill, PA facility. This is a great opportunity to work with a stable, well-established company!
Qualifications:
- 5 years experience in mechanical/electrical/electronic repair or comparable education and training.
- Advance knowledge of blueprints and electrical diagrams.
- Proficient in use of safety lockout/tagout procedures.
- Ability to operate various measuring equipment.
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed to maintain equipment to meet production demands.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Ability to work on 110, 220 and 440 lines safely.
- Must possess valid driver’s license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform setup, repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical CNC lathes, mills, and PLC equipment as required throughout the plant.
- Repair and perform maintenance on all types of small hand tools, machinery and equipment including but not limited to; grinders, paint sprayers, welders and material handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic problems on equipment.
- Perform detailed preventive maintenance on major equipment at facility.
- Perform welding repairs as needed.
- Perform general maintenance of plant facilities.
- Accurately enter time and labor data daily. Including but not limited to time, notes, pictures; type – breakdown, planned, safety; asset.
- Work safely and maintain a clean work area.
- Work Orders – login, review and complete daily, and create as needed.
- Communicate any discrepancies or improvements to Preventative Maintenance task items.
- Perform additional duties as deemed necessary.
Physical requirements
Must have full range of body motion. Must have the ability to stand for up to ten hours per day. Certain operations require repetitive bending, squatting and full arm extension. Manual lifting of a minimum of 85 lbs. approximately 5 times per hour may be required. Able to visit various manufacturing environments, and wear appropriate PPE such as hardhat, safety glass/goggles, protective jackets/aprons, safety toe boots.
