We are committed to delivering dependable solutions while creating a collaborative workplace where employees can grow and make a meaningful contribution to the mission.
Position Overview
AMS Technologies is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to lead the daily execution of an Agile software development team supporting mission-critical systems in a Department of Defense environment.
This is a hands-on leadership position that combines Scrum Master responsibilities with an understanding of full-stack software development. The successful candidate will facilitate Agile ceremonies, coach team members, remove delivery obstacles, maintain the team’s Scrum board, and help ensure work is clearly defined and completed on schedule.
The Scrum Master will work closely with product owners, developers, testers, technical leads, and program stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a servant leader who can improve team performance, encourage accountability, and protect the team from scope creep and unrealistic commitments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily execution of an Agile software development team of up to nine employees.
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, backlog refinement meetings, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Help define, document, prioritize, and track epics, user stories, tasks, defects, and acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with product owners and technical stakeholders to ensure requirements are clear, actionable, and properly prioritized.
  • Protect the team from overcommitment, unnecessary interruptions, and scope creep during each sprint.
  • Support story estimation, capacity planning, task development, and sprint forecasting.
  • Identify and remove external blockers while helping the team resolve internal roadblocks through communication and process improvement.
  • Capture feedback and action items from retrospectives and ensure agreed-upon improvements are implemented.
  • Administer and maintain the team’s Scrum board, ensuring work items and project information remain accurate and current.
  • Monitor sprint progress, team velocity, backlog health, and other Agile performance indicators.
  • Assist product owners with collecting and presenting metrics used to communicate project status, risks, and delivery forecasts.
  • Meet individually with team members and stakeholders as needed to resolve concerns, clarify expectations, and improve collaboration.
  • Coach team members on Agile principles, Scrum practices, team accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Help resolve disagreements involving team processes, priorities, responsibilities, and working styles.
  • Promote open communication and effective coordination across development, testing, cybersecurity, operations, and product teams.
  • Support the design and development of scalable software applications.
  • Participate in front-end and back-end development activities as needed.
  • Write clean, functional, and maintainable code.
  • Develop effective application programming interfaces (APIs).
  • Create use cases and support unit, functional, and integration testing.
  • Troubleshoot defects, resolve coding issues, and assist with software upgrades.
  • Support the implementation of application security and data-protection controls.
  • Help develop responsive applications that support desktop and mobile devices.
  • Create and maintain technical, process, and project documentation.
  • Perform other duties necessary to support program and mission requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience serving as a Scrum Master or leading an Agile software development team.
