What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Representative position at AMSI APPLIED MATERIAL SOLUTIONS INC?
Major Function:
Responsible for the successful management of the needs of the Employer’s customers in order to meet the objectives of the Employer’s overall business plans and strategies.
Major Duties:
- Receive and enter incoming purchase orders in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. Keep all records updated with current revisions such as location changes, ship dates, quantities, and communicate internally to appropriate departments. Be available for the customer for questions they may have regarding their open or shipped purchase orders.
- Coordinate shipping dates with the customer.
- Prepare and send reports and documents to customers as requested.
- Participate in and support reporting structure to ensure coverage for absences or other required backups, most notably Receptionist and Customer Service team members.
Alternates: In case of absence
- This position is covered with support from another Customer Service Representative.
Position Specifications & Benefits:
- Full Time, Hourly, Non-exempt position with overtime available after 40 hours per week.

- Must possess characteristics that show sound judgement necessary to fulfill position duties and maintain relationships with customers, freight reps, and coworkers.
- Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Manage time and schedule to meet established goals and objectives.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and any required ERP and CRM software.
- Follow company’s safety, sexual harassment, discrimination and general employee policies.
- Occasionally perform tasks not described in this position description in order to meet the needs of the company or department.
- All staff must report food safety (and quality) problems to personnel that can initiate action.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of an Associate’s Degree
- Two years of customer service experience is required. Freight experience helpful.
- Knowledge or familiarity with the chemical industry or an allied industry.
