JOB DESCRIPTION
A growing defense firm with a strong reputation in litigation is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join its Mandeville LA office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience or a strong background in medical-related issues. This position offers the opportunity for rapid professional growth, regular client contact.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex legal issues related to workers’ compensation matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, and detailed reports
- Conduct depositions, site inspections, and witness preparation.
- Appear in court, argue motions, and participate in mediations.
- Manage all aspects of litigation, including trial preparation and trial work.
- Collaborate with clients, adjusters, employers, and experts throughout the lifecycle of a claim.
- Travel as needed, primarily within the State of Louisiana
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of workers’ compensation defense experience
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- Must be licensed to practice in the state of Louisiana (would be an added plus to be licensed in both Louisiana and Mississippi)
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Appellate experience is a plus.
- Excellent client communication and interpersonal abilities
