Job Description:
Great law firm in New Orleans is looking to hire an Insurance Defense Paralegal. Supporting 2-3 attorneys. 100% onsite.
Job Responsibilities
- Support firm operations with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Manage discovery, including drafting responses to interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and other pleadings.
- Conduct investigations and fact development.
- Procure and organize medical, employment, and other biographical records in compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
- Prepare detailed chronologies, summaries, and reports for attorney use and client reporting.
- Schedule and coordinate independent medical examinations and expert document review, including organization and identification of relevant submission materials.
- Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and other support.
Requirements
- Paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or comparable education and training in a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience as a billable timekeeper in insurance defense litigation, civil litigation, or a comparable legal environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other industry-standard legal software.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
