Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience handling all phases of insurance defense litigation, including depositions, mediations, discovery, and settlements. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex cases independently while collaborating with a skilled team of attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Manage an active insurance defense caseload from inception through trial or resolution.
- Handle depositions, mediations, hearings, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
- Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
- Develop and implement case strategies in alignment with client goals and firm standards.
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda addressing liability, damages, and coverage issues.
- Communicate effectively with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.
- Ensure compliance with firm procedures, deadlines, and litigation best practices.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Florida and in good standing (required).
- 3–5 years of experience in insurance defense or civil litigation.
- Proven experience conducting depositions, mediations, discovery, and settlement negotiations.
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and case management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with a team-oriented environment.
